Mission Statement

Mental health and suicide are some of the most common problems in the world we live in today. In the United States alone more than 50% of people will be diagnosed with a mental illness or disorder at some point in their lifetime. In 2020 there were approx. 1.2 million suicide attempts with a 26% success rate. Suicide is the 12th leading cause of death in the United States. Together, with your help, we can make a large stride forward in ending the stigma that surrounds mental health and reaching the AFSP's goal of reducing the suicide rate 20% by 2025.

In our community, sadly, mental health tends to be passed over and suicide does not carry that much weight in someone's heart... until it hits home. With this event we look to bring awareness to the growing stigma regarding mental health. We want to make our community a safe haven for those who struggle with mental health issues. We want to encourage people to speak about their problems and not hold them in. When we bottle our stress up, that is when we see suicide attempts rise. Thanks to our partnership with the AFSP, we are one step closer to making these goals a reality! But we need your help!
